About the event

As autumn draws in, take the opportunity to connect more deeply with your local landscapes through this foraging workshop with a twist. As well as sharing knowledge on how to identify and use the different herbs, fruits and seeds available for wild harvesting, Amy will share practices that help us to go beyond an extractive relationship with plants and other beings, to one that encourages deeper listening and exchange.

She will guide simple medidative exercises to ground us in our bodies and attune us to our surroundings, before moving through the varied parkland to meet the plants, animals and fungi that live there. This workshop is for anyone who wants a nourishing experience in nature, to learn more about their local ecosystem, and who could manage a 2 hour gentle walk across varying surfaces.

Practical info:

We will be meeting from 1:45pm at the Cathcart cemetary entrance on Brenfield Road. It is the one closest to Muirend station and Sainsbury's, where there are toilets. Please wear weather appropriate clothes, waterproofs, water etc. Sturdy shoes recommended as we will go off the path at times. If you have any other questions about access needs, please get in touch.

Disclaimer:

The purpose of this workshop is to build familiarity and ID skills of local plants, but it is the individual's responsibility to research contraindications and proper ID before personal use. Please consult your medical care provider before using herbal medicine, particularly if you have a known medical condition or if you are pregnant or nursing.

A note from the organiser on ticket prices:

The goal of this workshop is not as a profit-making activity. I truly believe this is radical work that I want to be accessed by many people. That being said, the knowledge accrued in order to design and lead this took years of study and many hours of testing. So, if you have the means to invest in the “Full Price”, which I feel fully reflects the value of the workshop, then please do.

Furthermore, if you run a charity or organisation that has funding to hire me to run this workshop for free/lower ticket prices, then please get in touch!
