Frequently Asked Questions:

What can I expect in my DIY flowers order?

Buying flowers from a Scottish microfarm is different to buying imported flowers, which make up most of what you see in supermarkets and florists. Each month in the year brings different flowers into bloom, so your bucket will be full of what’s best-in-season at that moment. You can expect a mixed bucket with a variety of shapes, focal and filler flowers, all in a loose palette of your choosing (approximate ratio 1:1:1 of focal:secondary:filler). They will be more fragrant than anything you can buy at the market, with lots of character, and cut to bouquet-length stems, unless specified.

What are the size options?

  • DIY Half Bucket: approx 30 stems, enough for a main centrepiece, or several small vessels.

  • DIY Full Bucket: approx 65 stems, enough for a very large arrangement, or several medium vases.

What are the prices and how should I pay?

DIY Half Bucket: £55

DIY Full Bucket: £99

Most simply, you can order through www.remedyfields.co.uk and leave your order specifications in the order note. However, many people have questions or particulars about their order that are discussed over email, after which a deposit for half of the total price is sent to be paid via bank transfer. On delivery of the actual flowers, the remaining amount will be invoiced for or paid upfront in cash.

Do you offer vases?

No, you will be sourcing your own vases/vessels for arranging your flowers into. Knowing the sizes of vessels in advance will be helpful for knowing if you need to request a certain stem length.

Do you deliver?

Yes, deliveries are made between Dunlop, Paisley and in the Glasgow area on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. If you live outside of Glasgow or are unsure if your postcode is included, please get in touch and can discuss a pick up point (this will still incur the relevant charge from the list below - please understand I’m a one-woman team and can only go so far!)

Delivery charges:

*FREE DELIVERY FOR ALL ORDERS OVER £99 *

£7 northwards of Shawlands & central Glasgow

£10 West/East end Glasgow

Collection is also possible by arrangement from:

East Netherhill, Dunlop, KA3 4BX.

Please note that the track up to the farm is extremely rough, and that there are dogs onsite.

PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR OWN BUCKETS TO TRANSFER FLOWERS INTO, OR INCUR A £2 PER BUCKET CHARGE

Do you offer floristry services or training?

You might want to practice a certain style or technique before your big event, or host a hen-do or party in order to train up your wedding helpers! If so, then I offer 1:1 tutorials and group workshops, hosted either at your home or at The Wash House Garden in Glasgow. Get in touch and we can discuss further details and prices depending on participant numbers.

Furthermore, if you’re keen to do your own table flowers but would prefer someone else to make your handheld bouquet(s), then it is possible for me to create this for you according to your brief and the available flowers. Depending on size, this would cost between £90-150. Again, get in touch to discuss further.

What information should I give when ordering?

Please include the date of your event; how you intend to use the flowers (this will inform stem length - extra tall will incur a higher cost, small bud-vase height allows for a higher stem count); if you have a general palette you’d like; where you want delivery to, or if you’d prefer collection.

Terms & Conditions:

By ordering DIY flowers from Remedy Fields you are agreeing:

  1. To pay outstanding invoices within two weeks of receipt, or in cash on delivery.

  2. That a non-refundable £50 portion of your price (or half your quoted price, if less than £50) will be retained if you cancel your order. This is to factor in bulbs, seeds etc grown according to your order.

  3. That no promises of certain flowers can be 100% guaranteed. Suitable substitutes will be found, and a range of flower types included in the mixed bucket. All orders are bespoke and individual.

  4. That your delivery must be received between the quoted time - if no-one is in then you will have to pay for delivery again. Requests to leave flowers in a chosen place are done so at your own risk. Buckets with water must be left or else incur an extra charge for Remedy Fields’ buckets.

  5. That when you place an order through the online shop, you will receive an email confirming the details of your order. This email is not confirmation that your order has been accepted. Your order will only be accepted once I have confirmed I have your flowers and that I can offer collection or delivery on your suggested date.

  6. That by accepting your delivery, your flowers are in excellent condition having been carefully selected and conditioned according to your event date. After this point, it is your responsibility to care for the flowers appropriately (please see below for tips)

Caring for your flowers:

Please have a clean vessel with fresh water in it ready to transfer your flowers into. When you are ready to arrange, snip the ends of the stems to the desired height, and strip any lower leaves that might sit in the water (making it dirtier). The flowers will last longest if the water is changed regularly, and are placed in a cool spot away from direct sunlight.

Florist's tip: Occasionally, some flowers can be prone to wilting when air bubbles block the stem from sucking up water, and this can often be remedied with a fresh cut, 10 second plunge in boiling water and returning to cold water.
It is the customer's responsibility to carry out the above processes to ensure the best health and vase life of the delivered stems.

REPAIRING CONNECTION WITH LANDSCAPE

Remedy Fields is a regenerative growing project created by farmer and movement artist, Amy Dakin Harris. Reparative actions are the core purpose of this project, whether that be using agricultural methods that nurture ecosystems, uniting customers with low-carbon, high quality products, or deepening the body's relationship with the land.
